2021 The Doctors' Sauvignon Blanc
Ripe, fruity, varietal, vibrant and aromatic, everything a NZ SB from Marlborough should possess. Aromas and flavours of fresh gooseberry and tropical fruits, apple and pineapple, fresh white peach with contrasting snow pea and sweet hay. Crisp and salivating on the palate with a core of fruit and fresh herb qualities. A balanced and well made wine, ready to drink from 2022 through 2025+.

2021 The Doctors' Rose
Aromas of fresh red berries and melon, moments of cherry and, raspberry wine gums and roses. New, fresh, floral and enticing. Taut and crisp on the palate with acidity enhancing the flavours of pink grapefruit, then red cherry and some red apple. New, fresh, salivating and ready. Best drinking from 2022 through 2024. The naturally lower alcohol of this wine only enhances its qualities.

2020 The Doctors' Pinot Noir
Varietal, ripe, fleshy, fruity and floral. Aromas and flavours of plums and dark cherries, there’s a fine mineral and gentle savoury complexity, scents of fresh red rose and pomegranate. Satin textured with fine fruit-led tannins, a decent acid line and with a naturally lower alcohol, there’s an evenness across the palate promoting flavour and texture. A wine that can be served cool and suits many lightweight through moderately spiced dishes. Best drinking from day of purchase and through 2026+.

2021 The Doctors' Riesling
Fragrant, fresh and enticing with lifted aromatics of lemon and white peach, pineapple and limeflower, some white blossom and a touch of spice. Off-dry on the palate with a luscious sweetness and fruit flavours that mirror the bouquet. Contrasting acidity adds crispness and balance, while the fruit flavours at the core remain persistent adding length. A lovely wine, fresh, bright and tasty. Best drinking from 2022 through 2030+.

Dr John William Forrest was born (1955) and bred in Marlborough, New Zealand. A PhD in Neurophysiology decided to become a wine grower and returned to Marlborough in 1988 to establish Forrest Wines alongside his wife Brigid. Lower alcohol and screw cap pioneer, he is known for pushing the boundaries in New Zealand wine.

Alongside the day-to-day involvement in the vineyard, winery and administration, Brigid has served 30 years as a medical doctor working in General Practice, specialising in pregnancy care, birth and families, and then as a community geriatrician managing the physical and mental health of older people and then Hospice, ensuring that people can live life fully to the very end.
